Would You Install Tires on a Vehicle that's Out of Alignment

Are you driving a car that's out of alignment?

Would you be able to recognize it if you were?

If you've been advised to get your alignment checked before installing new tires, there's a good reason for that. Many motorists may not realize they are driving a vehicle that's out of alignment, which can cause tires to wear out prematurely. This is why it's a smart idea to have an alignment inspection performed whenever you install new tires.

Don't Install Tires on a Vehicle that is Out of Alignment

If you knew your car was out of alignment, would you install new tires on it? Probably not, but that's what can happen when a motorist opts out of an alignment check before installing new tires. If the vehicle isn't aligned (this is possible due to suspension components wearing over time from normal use, as well as from collisions with pot holes and curb sides), then the tires won't have the the best opportunity to provide long-lasting service. Certain areas of the tires may wear out more quickly than others, leading to the need for premature tire replacement.

Since tires aren't the least expensive component to replace, this isn't something that drivers want to do again any time soon.

Signs of Misalignment

If your wheels are out of alignment, you may notice that your car pulls to one side or that the steering wheel is off-center. However, if the vehicle is slightly out of alignment, you might not notice these issues for awhile, outside of having the alignment checked. A wheel alignment can correct these issues and provide you with a smoother, more comfortable ride.

Overall, inspecting and correcting the alignment when installing new tires, if needed, is a simple and effective way to extend the life of your tires, improve your car's handling, and save money in the long run. It's a small investment that can pay off big dividends in terms of tire and vehicle performance.
